Willie John Daly: Death Of Famous Cork 1950's All Ireland Champion Hurler
The death was announced on Wednesday 29th November 2017 of the last surviving Cork player who played on all 3 in a row 1952/53/54 Cork champion senior hurling teams. Other members of that famous 1950's panel live on with fond memories of a great Cork hurling era.
Willie John was a Carrigtwohill hurling legend, a gentleman on and off the field and a Cork legend I had the privilige to honour in December 2011 with a This Is Your Life presentation at Fota Island Hotel, Co. Cork.
Willie passed away at Cobh Community Hospital, his residence for the last years of his life and just across the road from the family home in Cobh, Co. Cork.
The All Ireland Hall Of Fame @ www.scoreboardmemories.com extend our deepest sympathy to Willie's wife, Teresa, his daughter Ann-Marie and grandaughter, Lauryn and also to the Carrigtwohill G.A.A. club on the passing of a Famous Hurling Son Of Carrigtwohill and Cork.
May you rest in peace Willie John.
