1884 *Gaelic Athletic Association was founded at Hayes’s Hotel,Thurles,Co.Tipperary.

1887* Tipperary become the first county to be crowned All Ireland Senior Hurling Champions by beatingGalway in All Ireland final.

*Limerick become the first county to be crowned All Ireland Senior Football Champions beating Louth in final.

1889 *Dublin win their first All Ireland Senior Hurling title when they beat Clare in the final.

* Tipperary win their first All Ireland Senior Football title by beating Laois.

1890 *Cork win their first All Ireland Senior Hurling title.

Cork also win the All Ireland Senior Football Title to record a famous All Ireland double.

1891 *Kerry win their only All Ireland Senior Hurling Title. 

*  Dublin win their first All Ireland Senior Football Title.

1893  *Wexford win their first All Ireland Senior Football Title.

1894 *Cork become first county to complete 3 in-a-row All Ireland Senior Hurling Titles.

1897  *Limerick win their first All Ireland Senior Hurling Title.

1960 *  Down make football history becoming the first six counties team to win Sam Maguire.

1989 *Derry City record a historic ‘Double’ of League and F.A. Cup triumphs.

1990 * Cork repeat 1890 Hurling and Football Double of 1890 by winning the Sam Maguireand Liam McCarthy Cups.

* Cork’s Teddy McCarthy becomes the only player to win All Ireland Senior Hurling and football medals in the same year.

       *Bray Wanderers win historic F.A. Cup

1992 * Donegal bring Sam Maguire home for the first time ever by beating Dublin in final.

1993 *Derry go north in triumph with Sam Maguire for the first time ever beating Cork in final.

1995 *Clare bring Liam McCarthy Cup to the Banner for the first time since 1914.

1998 * Galway capture Sam Maguire Cup for first time since 1966.

1999 *Shelbourne win League and F.A.Cup ‘Double’
